ABOUT THE EVENT

Pioneer DJ Presents the 2023 Canadian National DMC SCRATCH Championships. This competition is based on the world renown, classic 2-Minute DMC Scratch Competition.

The 2023 Pioneer DJ Canadian National DMC DJ Championships will also take place at the same event after the Scratch Competition competition.

REGISTRATION & GUIDELINES:

1) This event is open to Canadian DJS only. You must be a bonafied Canadian citizen or have 6 years of residency here in order to compete.

2) Register no later than Friday, September 29th @ 11:59 PM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time) to signify your intent to compete. Send all registration and inquiries to Canada@DMCWorld.com. A formal registration form will be sent to all competitors and must be completed or returned.

3) Prepare a 1-Minute Elimination set to be performed during sound check if required:

– If the total number of registered DJs exceeds 8, DJs will be required to perform their 1-Minute elimination set during sound check in front our judging panel in a closed room.

– The top 8 DJs will be selected by our judging panel and proceed to the Scratch Competition during the live show.

4) Our esteemed judging panel will rank all of the competitors in the Scratch Competition and the Top 3 DJs will be awarded prizing courtesy of Pioneer DJ and our additional generous sponsors.

 

EQUIPMENT INFORMATION

1) All competing DJs are required to utilize the supplied turntables and mixers.

2) DJs may supply their own mixer of choice but must provide the make / model on the registration form.

3) DJs are responsbile for supplying their own records, control vinyl, slip mats, headphones and cartridges. Phase is also permitted in the competition when used in conjuction with turntables.

4) CDJS, midi-controllers, sequencers, dicers, foot pedals, mobile phones etc. ARE NOT PERMITTED.

5) DJS must come prepared with their own beat / instrumental to Scratch over. You must play your instrumental from vinyl record or your DVS (Serato, Traktor, Virtual DJ etc.)
